Have never heard of obsidian aqua. Can you fill me in? Chances are it is not obtainable here in an obscure corner of Canada.

Hi, Obsidian Aqua is a new staining developer (uses Catechol) that is closely related to Hypercat 11. Jay De Fehr created the formulation and has kindly placed it in the public domain for all to use. Thanks, Neil! Seems he invented this specifically for folks like me, who have to have EVERYTHING shipped. Valuable information, and I'll be looking into this further.

You are welcome and I hope you do give it a try as it is an excellent staining developer. I have now used it with 5x4, 6x6 and 35 mm film with good repeatable results. I am the same here in Cornwall with supplies and it can be tricky to get the Catechol from time to time. The Catechol I using at moment came from Poland. Neil.
