Northern Light With Red

Often the film responds with red to northern light, though you never experienced any red, but this time I saw the red in the peculiar northern light light!

We see these where I live, but usually when it's very unpleasant outside! You have to get pretty far north to see colours other than green -- I've heard stories that up closer to the Arctic Circle near Churchill Manitoba, you can actually hear a faint crackling sound.

Thank you for your comments! Happy to spread some northern light!! This picture (and the two others close to this) was taken some years ago. Unfortunately not very much northern light the last years in my place, at least (but it is also a question of being outdoor looking!). Hope there will be more of northern light this autumn, quite amazing to experience. About TV antenna, can understand your reaction (bsdunek) and perhaps even your hate; personally I'm somewhat relaxed about this very thing- rather think of it in this picture as a little joke - and after all we have these things and the light lightens our gardens! Colin, yes there are also people here who say they can hear northern light; scientists say it should be totally impossible, the light phenomenon is at such a huge distance from the earth that sounds - transmitted by air waves - is just out of question.
