This is a fairly close up view of the north face of Mt. Edith Cavell (11,033 ft.) in the Canadian Rockies of Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. This photo was taken in mid-July.
I made this photo from the trail to Cavell Meadows. The spot is about a 2.2 mile hike from the trailhead parking lot, with about a 1200 foot elevation gain, to a little over 7000 feet.
After making the hike, the entire mountain was shrouded in fog. I waited about 3 hours, hoping for the fog to clear. I finally gave up and started packing up my camera, when all of a sudden the weather cleared. I fired of two shots, and about 10 minutes later the fog moved back in. I got lucky.
