I'm relieved to finally have a photograph of my son with his 96 year old great grandmother! I hope the photograph will help him to remember her during his whole life.
Thank you all so much for your kind comments. We have precious little time with her, I think, and I'm trying to visit her as much as I can, and to photograph her whenever it's possible.
I remember visiting MY great grandmother (her mother!) when I was about my son's age, but my memories of her face are vague at best. I just hope my kids will remember their great grandmother with the help of these images. Again, thank you, all.
My daughters were in my sister-in-law's wedding last year. A beautiful portrait was taken of the girls with their aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. The next day their great-grandmother passed away. My daughters are too young to appreciate it now and it was the first time they had met their great greatmother, but it was very meaningful to my mother-in-law and sister-in-law to have that last family portrait with all the "girls" together.
