Nice family scene. There's a million humorous speech balloons for this scene. Out of sight his little daughter is picking plums and against his better judgement but to please his daughter the father has accepted and eaten one, hence his puckered face which he is trying to hide. The lady on the end is amused but asks in false innocence how sweet was the plum. The older lady is saying she could have told him not to eat it and the lady on the other end is saying "Daddy loved your plum but we're having lunch soon and he doesn't want to spoil his appetite by eating any more!
