no seriously

trying to work out this split grading game - this is from a fairly contrasty negative (pushed 2 stops under fluorescent lighting)

As far as I can see from the scan there are no blown highlights or drowned shadows, so, well done with the split grade printing. And the grain is surprisingly contributive.
 
This is not a suitable photo to learn split grade printing from. It needs to have areas of light and shade, perhaps a landscape shot or a street scene would offer more scope.

I like the shot, and the grain I think adds something to the photo. One serious-looking girl all right!
 
Regardless of the technique you chose to print with, it is a very good portrait.

Perhaps you could show us a straight or single grade print, for comparison.
