Local children protest at the "Justice for Gordon" demonstration.
Pollock is what they call an unemployment black spot. Gordon Gentle, 19, went as usual to claim his benefits at the local job centre. The army had a stall there, he signed up. Six months later he got blown up in Iraq. He just wanted a job, something to do.
Gareth I think I'm getting to spot you style and knew it was one of yours before reading the name. Good to see you posting here again. Great capture as always.
Gareth,
Once again, great image. There is one thing I wanted to bring up... your composition. I think most people would have filled the frame with the people, but you chose to include the sky. This gives it a feeling of depth and vastness. A straight on shot of the front of the crowd would have been too literal. I feel compositionally you took this from being a possible bland newspaper photo to being street/fine art photography. Fine job.
