No. 643

Stripped of bell, headlamp and number boards, No. 643 basks in springtime sun among the weeds. Perhaps a post-recession rise in scrap prices will send her off to be reincarnated as new Hyundais or a high rise in Singapore...

Thanks for looking!

I love trains, I am leaving in about an hour to shoot some myself (tracks actually). Nice old engine. I would love to hear one run again. Nice photo too. I just hope a museum picks it up instead of sending it to the scrap yard. Too many of them ended up like that.Wayne

A nice "portrait" but saddening. Like Too Old to Care I hope somebody rescues it. I'll add that sometimes the owner of a locomotive will remove the bell, whistle, builder's plates and other such removable items lest they wind up stolen to supply unscrupulous collectors.
