1992. New York trip with a Mamiya 6. Back to Paris in the darkroom, processed film and almost trashed it right away.
Camera was jammed and I had multiple exposures. After a week sitting I finally printed it.
This made me do double exposures for more than 10 years...:-) !
Crazy.
The last accidental double exposure I made was this past January (and a few months before), and it was of a little island off the coast of O'ahu together with the Brooklyn Bridge. There is no way I could have planned it, and if I wanted to make more like that, it would get to be a very expensive project, so I think I'll stick to happy accidents for now.
Yes lovely happy accident. Once this happened to me as well, I grabbed a roll of film I thought was one I rolled, happened to be by my wifes film from a dance performance with the leader sticking out for some reason, I made exposures in Muir Woods. The images were of little dancers in the giant redwood trees.
It happened to almost every photographer, but to only few of them it opened new space .... The photography is about these moments, accidents or not, doesn't matter. Beautiful.
