My son is 14. For years I've been measuring his growth by comparing his hands with my hands, his feet with mine. He has finally outgrown me and I so enjoy that! In fact, his feet have outgrown my husband's! So, I like the gawky look of a growing boy's feet.
This mothering venture is an odd one, isn't it? Because he's my boy, I love all the things I used to find repulsive in boys this age; the crackly, changing voice, the few whiskers and almost hairy legs. Now I really think it's all endearing and beautiful. I love his lanky skinny body with legs that look like they belong on a colt. And I'm enjoying that between time of becoming a man (in some ways, surely) but still loving his Mom so much.
My 3 girls are old enough to have taught me all the difficulties of parenting. Thankfully there are these other qualities that somehow outweigh the hard ones.
Pardon the "too many words", but you know how it is. A mother always sees more!
No one else? I love it! As Jon says, it has a wonderful atmosphere... a great feeling about it. Looking forward to seeing more now that you're caught up with the film!
I agree - - a great series of 3! I particularly like the way you can see the dirt that wraps around the soles of his feet. Now that my son is grown, I see these small things in other people's images that make we wish I had taken more of these kinds of pictures of him ...
