Ohhh.. this is a neat one. I would love to see the real print - I bet the tones are just fantastic. Makes me want to come to the UK again.

Thanks very much to you all for your flattering comments.

I have now had the chance to have another go at this and lightened the high values in sky and sea to get more tonal separation.

Also the colour version taken on another evening has arrived and is very striking also colour neg version from the same evening where the sky is perhaps better. However have done nothing with this yet. Will post if there is the interest.

I agree, great composition. I really like the silky sea and the white rock in the foreground. Great detail in the rocks as well. This is a very nice image.

Thanks Carl and Randy for your comments. Glad that you are back posting Carl, look forward to seeing some more of your masterpieces.

I have been getting teased byfriends that I placed the white granite stone. However it must weigh 30-40kg and to lift it the 25 feet above beach level is more than my commitment to my 'art'!
Maybe next year it will have hatched.........

Inspiring image! The tones are to die for. The scale is somewhat mysterious and that's what I like about it as well.
