This was tricky to print. I shot several frames of my nephew and realize now I should have added flash. As such, the negatives were thin. This was the most printable frame. I had to sacrifice deep blacks, otherwise the eyes and hair went to shadowy mush.
It looks to me like you shot this on an overcast sky day and there just weren't any deep blacks to be had. This is a beautiful example of an outdoor overcast sky portrait printed "just right". However, what does bother me (there always seems to be "howevers") is cutting off the top of the subject's head. Is it on the negative? if it is, reprint it with the complete head and everthing else unchanged. Do that and you should have a picture that I would be proud to say "I made that".......Regards
