Needed a 4x5....

This is one of those times where perspective control would have been nice. I guess I'll have to revisit this place with a 4x5. Other than the perspective issues, what do you think of it?

While the perspective issue is a 2 second fix in PS, in the analog world a VC will do the same corrections.

I very much like the quality of the light, and the effective use of the palm(?) leaf/branches in the sky area of the frame.

I agree with Paddy about the leaves, they frame the building well. To be truthful, the perspective doesn't worry me at all, quite like it the way it is.

if you look at my hassy photos I have posted of key west I use this type of perspective to give it more of a abstract look. I like this alot.
ps :
I mostly use LF and ULF so perspective is something I work with all the time and still find things like this pleasing to the eye.

Likewise. If the building and framing is the "wow" factor which they are then I wonder how many "see" the converging vertical and the lean back.

Techies and engineers of course will spot it but it doesn't appeal to that part of the brain.

I wouldn't go back with a view camera, I think you've nailed it with this.

The perspective, with framing like this, is perfect!

Presumably when you do print, you may be able to hold the front lower part of the building slightly, this I feel will lift the whole picture.

I agree with many people here, but particularly Michael. I don't have any ULF cameras (although I wish I could) but with my 4x5 I find myself shooting all kinds of converging lines like this just because it's fun, and the image itself can have a lot of impact using that as an abstract feature. I think this is quite good the way it is.

Going back with a 4x5 would be fun. Mostly because you would be able to control the amount of perspective shift you have.

I do like the way the image works with the square format -- the image may not work as well as a rectangle (or at least not work in the same way.)
