Násasvágge, Sarek, Sweden.

Násasvágge, a high (938m) valley in Sarek N.P. in North West Sweden, 27 June 2009.

June is actually a bit too early in the season to walk this valley. It took me two hours for the 1.5 kilometers.

Having made it through I looked back into the valley and took this farewell/goodbye picture.
It's about six in the afternoon and the sun is too low and weak to penetrate the high cloud. Later that night (the sun does not set there and then) the sky cleared again.

(This is a scan of the negative, the paper is too large for my scanner)

Well worth the walk, thought it was a night shot until I read the text.
Great sky and just enough detail in the valley to get the imagination working overtime....

I remember feeling a bit intimidated with the eery atmosphere at the time, the pictures captures that mood quite well I think. It didn't help me that I was cold, hungry and tired...
