My very first EIR photograph

This is the first roll of Kodak EIR I have ever shot. I figured I should give it a try before it goes away forever. I can see that there would be uses, but it would take a lot of experimenting and I am not sure it is worth doing the work knowing that the film is now out of production! Anyway, I would be curious to see if anyone likes the IR effect with this photo or not. I'm not sure what I think of it!

That is exactly my reaction to EIR

I've always thought of this film as a novelty thing that we all need to try once or twice but not really take seriously. BTW - it gets even wierder if you use a yellow filter with it.

this guy http://www.infraredphoto.co.uk/gallery.html uses it a lot and has some good info on his site.

Hi, Matt.

To me this is one of the best EIR shots I've seen, ever. To those less used to seeing colour IR this might not be recognizable as such, yet we're all left admiring the smooth ethereal tones. The purple suffused into the church is sublime.

I like looking at EIR and HIE but I find that the "visual explosion" that can be provided by these films is often over-done, especially when the photographer gets enthusiastic about foliage.

I appreciate your attempt at subtlety with this usually-never-subtle film. Well done.
