This is my Grandma of 94 that I shot of her last summer. Me and My son made a trip to Iowa last summer to photographer her and the surrounding area. Thank goodness we did. On December 8th 2015, she passed away.
As a photograph, this is wonderful, as a momento it is priceless. She has that kindly, knowing look that some old people have, I'll bet she was a lovely person....
That's an awesome photo, and should be cherished by the family. Sorry to hear of her passing, but God bless her at 94+, she has a good life. Make prints for other family members!!
Thanks guys.. I think the whole point of this is point out how important it is to take pictures of the living and to take them right, cause after their passing, that's all you have and wonderful memories. Shot all on Beautiful film. She is in front of her iconic farm house as the sun was setting on the last day that we were there, that she always lived in and brought up five children.
So much beauty and character in the subject and incredibly well done with the soft flash to separate her from the background. If only I could have done it anywhere near this well with my last photos of my sister, back in October. Make some nice prints for your relatives, they will love it.
My condolences about your Granny. You can never take too many pictures of them and you never know which ones could be the last. We've all been there. I wish video cameras had been around when my Granny was still here but they're weren't "invented" yet. I haven't heard the name Paul Buff in years when I first looked at White Lighting strobes. I do like the lighting and to have immortalized her with A Rollei is even more significant. Great job.
