Looks pretty good for a first attempt. What grade of paper did you use? It might be worth trying the next half a grade or grade up. The highlights possibly lack a little detail
Your exposure is close so it might be worth doing test print strips around your existing exposure. Have a look at R Lambrecht's Darkroom Magic site he has an article on test strips using f stop timing and even supplies a table translating f stops into times in seconds. Your Phillips timer will I think be able to do times in 1/10th of a second
I think your neg probably contains all the detail in the highlights so it is just a question of finding an exposure to bring the highlight detail out.
Your good print might then become a great print. Best of luck
Hi Its multigrade at 2. I wasn't really trying to get a good print, just seeing if the old chems I inherited had any life. I am totally amazed how well it came out seeing as I wasn't really taking great care of any settings really. The print looks way better than the scan. Next time I will try and improve this same neg.
