My daughter works as a Zipline safety guide at The Gorge in Saluda, NC. The longest, steepest zipline course in the USA. My wife and I went with her group on the course, and it takes about 4 hours to go down 11 different ziplines. At one point, we were 350 feet above the ground over a ravine!. Spectacuar waterfalls, and scenery in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Nice shot. A great way to spend the day. Appeals to the "kid" in all of us and the kid can live as long we want. Just requires the right frame of mind.
That would be a fun job! I did a zip line in Costa Rica and took some shots (with a P&S unmentionable) while zipping (in case it dropped I knew I wouldn't care). You took a Mamiya?
About 30-35 mph. The steepness grade is 8-10%, which is the highest in the USA. Total cable length for the 11 zip lines is almost 6500 feet. http://thegorgezipline.com/
