I was 17 years old, riding my bike around on a hot, lazy Texas late afternoon, looking for things to photograph. I stopped my bike to retie my windblown hair in my scarf, when I noticed the sun shining through the scarf. I wanted to get a shot of that, so I tied the scarf to my bike handlebar and took a shot.
This shot is truly the icon of my first "artistic" photographic effort. I remember this shot so well and was thrilled to find it after 38 years. This is the day I became a photographer.
