@ProfessorC1983 I start with a flimsy 2'' brush just to spread the emulsion quickly then I smooth it out with a 4'' Kaerell varnish brush.

@Raphael Thanks, for me they scan very grainy, probably because the paper is textured after being soaked and dried 5-6 times..I used renaissance wax and that improved the scan quite a bit...I may be using the wrong setting on my scanner though.
