Muir Woods, California

I was wandering in the Muir Woods on a Sunday morning and spotted this sapling reaching for the sunlight. The overcast light was just right and I broke out the 11x14 Hawkeye Portrait lens and shot it wide open at F-8. I had to wait for the slight breeze to stop for the 10 second exposure. Still got some fuzzies but I don't think it detracts from the image.

Are there two more peaceful and wonderful places on earth than Point Reyes and Muir Woods. I was there in spring, shortly before I got my LF camera . I love there shots and am looking forward to the rest of them!! Thanks for the memories!

Russell, Muir Woods is indeed a peaceful place. I was there early on a Sunday morning. I was able to wander about at 6:30 am. and set up the 8x10 at several locations and not be bothered by anyone. The occasional person would look in amazement. I would give them a treat and have them look at the ground glass. It would satisfy their curiosity.
