Mt Soledad

I'd be very tempted to print this in black and white to give it a lot more gravitas. I think it's a wonderful statement of "life goes on" as well as the juxtaposition you mentioned which is more irreverent. The interesting thing is that a lot of the people in the memorial were about the age of this kid, maybe slightly older. I think it's a great controversial picture of celebration of life as well as youthful ignorance. A possibly great picture but I would definitely try for more gravitas than what the snapshot color of it looks like. Actually I stared at it some more and I'm torn. Interestingly the "old" part is black and white, and the new part is color which is also a great statement. The past and the present. And the past gave their lives so the present and the city below could exist. So now, I'm not sure if I would leave it or not. Bottom line is, it's a very interesting picture.

Thank you, Blansky. You have given me insights that I did not know about my own image, especially the age of the subject and the protection of the city below. This one surprised me. There were no expectations at all. I had originally seen them from the background in this shot, but the light was all wrong and I figured they would quit before i could get something lined up. I came to this spot, got a shot that I wanted of the wall, and they were still there. So I just turned the camera on the tripod and got this. The best shot of the day and it was pure serendipity. I love "found" photography, but don't do, and really dislike "street" photography, so this is very rewarding.

I think your angles and composition are great as well. The flow is spectacular.
