Finally, had time to get back out and start hiking after breaking my leg back in March. A nice short climb(1200m up and 7km ) to one of my favorite waterfalls on the slopes of Mt. Chokai in Akita Prefecture Japan. Not sure if the wide angle looks works or not. But standing in knee deep snow run off water is a great way to bring the swelling down I found out.
Any and all comments are welcome and greatly appreciated.
Beautiful, an extremely well rendered capture of the scene. Akita prefecture, if I am not mistaken, is the home of the Akita Dog breed, which was saved from extinction by the efforts of a gentleman named Mori, which was detailed in a book called 'Dog Man'. A very interesting read, and more to the point, a very interesting photograph.
Thanks for the nice comments. I am thinking about hiking back up there in the next few weeks, there are 4 other falls in the same gorge that I want to spent more time exploring.
George,
You are correct, Akita Prefecture is the home Akita Dog. They are a actually a nice dog, I have several friends who have them. I actually read that book a while ago, it really is a good book.
