Mother's Bowl

I wanted to photograph this old aluminium bowl that has been in our family for over 75 years. It was given to my mother as a wedding present in 1932 and has now passed to me. It still gets used regularly.
The weathered and battered surface carries marks from the preparation of thousands of family meals, but it presented a challenge to photograph.
This is my first use of PMK developer, in order to retain detail in the specular highlights.

You have made a very simple, yet personal object, very beautiful. This is most certainly a lovely photograph. Thanks for sharing the storey behind it.

Stunning work.. it is hard to say that the bowl is made of aluminium but any other precious metal.. I admired your work...

Wonderful tones and details that convey the history and "spirit" of this simple object.

All the best,
Daniel
