looking further, it gives me a feeling of 911. with new york in the background and the post remind me of the soldiers memorial in Arlington. Boy you can really read into this if you wanted to.
I'm overwhelmed by the positive response to this image.
I've been looking at this neg for a couple of years+ and couldn't make it work using more conventional means. Lith printing is allowing me to make some prints that match the subtlety of a monotone foggy scene but to reinject some of it's intensity via the varieties of grain and color. The Varycon is especially suited to this idea...pale beige and blue grey split tones in selenium through a pale mauve when fully toned.
It's pretty fortuitous that I keep my camera loaded and walk my dogs along this riverfront walkway a few times a day.
