This may well be my favorite of the series. And I'm not sure I'd change anything. There is a strange slightly surreal feel to all of this series due to the lack of contrast needed to illuminate the dark walls and the blown out parts outside the structures because we intuitively know we can't really have these large differences in exposure and it seem real. So I'd celebrate the surreal nature of it. I like the room to move in this one and the fact that it's less confining that most of them and I like the human element and its placement. It has sort of an outdoor gallery feel to it. Time to look and contemplate. The other ones say different things, but I think this is my favorite one.
Outdoor gallery... Yes, that is how this place feels. It covers about 2 city blocks, so a very large, open air gallery. The ceilings are so high, like the open-sided hay barns on my father's farm. I'm gratified that my photographs can evoke in you the feel of the place. It really is a very surreal location because under bridges is not a place one usually goes. I would love to come here for a low-rider competition event and get a shot of a '63 Impala with it's rear end 10 feet up in the air. Or maybe on an overcast Monday where the sky won't blow out so big.
