Moonrise, Blakeney

Ok, not quite Hernandez... not even close. Norfolk, England. Am very much the darkroom novice, so, as far as a scan can reveal... any tips?

Niko, I find the picture as it is very good, specially for a long exposure. Personally I would have left the boat and the moon out and made a minimalistic picture a la Michael Kenna.....Good job!

Actually, the boat sitting on dry land makes me think that you're preparing for a ride to the moon. I think the composition works.

I like the boat and the moon. Now the person, on the other hand, I'd have probably waited for him to move along (unless this is a self portrait...

Is the streaking on the negative?

I think the person works well with the whole composition. Ditch the boat and the moon and it is really cool too. I just plain like this shot.

Chuck:
You know I was so fixated on getting the moon to print down, while keeping the foreground that I only recently even saw the person! (I'd remember if it was me).
No, the streaking is only on the print. Poor washing? Uneven development? Any idea?

Jorge:
No long exposure - just awkward printing like I said in my email! Such heavy handed burning that day turns to night kind of thing...

I'm guessing uneven development. The scary thing is if I stare at the streaking long enough, I see a face in the streaks, just below the moon. Does anyone else see a face, with long hair and goatee? Have I been staring at too many of these photos? I think I need a drink...

Regarding the face in the fog, it looks like the Shroud of Turin to me. Perhaps the fogging/streaking is a miracle?
