Looks like a foggy morning!
But your description and the moving stars in the sky show the opposite.

I think it was actually about 10 or 11 at night. The moon was full and behind me. I made about 4 exposures this was the best.

Nice shot. I have a moonlight shot on my gallery, that when printed "straight", gave the same "foggy morning" effect too. I burned in the sky so the overall look of the print was darker.
