I like it also. I'm just curious: why do this? Why not just use a whole negative?

Not knocking you, just asking.

Thanks Ron, Thanks Colin.

Colin, that's a worthwhile question. This negative had light leak problems on both ends, plus some rather harsh shadows on one end. I was not happy with the neg as a whole. But I found that two or three good 4x5 negs can be taken out of a useless 7x17. Plus, I can enlarge and get the larger prints. People like large for some reason these days. I don't agree with that desire, but large attracts more attention and sales.

Nice work, Alex! Good idea too with using the same negative... Did it hurt just a smidgeon to cut it?

Alex while I like the result I think that it could be improved by increasing the gap between the photo's. As it is the photo on the RHS appears to be have been taken further away. The increase in the gap will give each photo more room to breath and the viewer has to work harder to join them together.

Cheers
Vincent

Warm thanks for everyone's comments and input.

Thomas, yes it can be hard to cut the neg, but otherwise its gone to waste. But, its still not done whimsically.

Vincent, good suggestion. I had been wondering how spacing might the overall image. Glad you brought that up.
