I have overblown that white paint. I don't know what to do about this neg. The evening sun shined straight at the white smoke box door and the rest is painted black. Too much dynamic range.

White paint in direct sunshine on plain smooth metal is bound to look like that. I don't think you need concern yourself. This is a scan of the neg of course but unless you have had to do things with the scan that means the neg will be very difficult to print then it should be finePlenty of detail where there should be detail
