"Datura Stramonium - Doornappel"

Just playing around with a miniature table-top studio setup... there are a few more on my website:

This plant was imported from the America's several centuries ago for botanical and medicinal purposes, and has now spread into the wild and can be sporadically found in the dune reserves in the Netherlands.

Story has it, that this plant is so toxic, that the children that were send out to collect its seeds, had dilated pupils all day simply from touching the plant and seeds...

Don't know how I looked when I took these pictures, but I guess the dried out version is less of a thread, as it is used in dry flower bouquets.

I love the series you have done. Reminds me of other great dired flora series I have seen over the years and very nicely done.
 
Thanks for the comments... yes, it's loco weed alright, although it seems to a have a host of different nicknames in the US according to the English Wikipedia. Killed quite some kids in seek of a hallucinogenic thrill this plant, something I didn't know when I shot the series. However, it makes the series title all the more appropriate...
