The kitchen is always a magical place where people gather around to eat, talk, have coffee. I took photos as well at my parents Brooklyn kitchen and my dad's (sort of a kitchen) kitchen at his house in the Philippines. Its outdoors and used to be powered by water buffalo dung but now powered by charcoal and gas. I love the photo of the ice crusher. To me, photos of places that provide memories are ones that I always like.

I can relate to your experiences a lot. Most of my good memories with my parents have been in either my kitchen or theirs. It is a place to gather the family and create memories, that's for sure.
It is a beautiful series you have created, something to cherish forever. I admire your strength and composure to create this. Thank you for sharing your personal experience with us. I wish to offer my condolences.

I love the personal touches like the switch and the decorations. I can just imagine the countless hours spent standing right there.
