You know, she loves that camera. It takes surprisingly decent and sharp images. She uses it to practice what she calls "all those rules of photography". She will load all the images on a computer and analyze for hours! Then when I visit she always shows me - and usually she culls what I would consider her best work!

Ya know the sad truth is that the digital images are very sharp. Especially the high end DSLR's, they don't compare when it comes to the film aesthetic but all the 'film is still higher grained" talk with lpp statistics but when I saw a 20x30 print from my digital and how sharp it was, I doubt even a drum scan could compare at 35mm sizes, I could be wrong with like tech pan or maybe panF+ but certainly 400+ speeds digital is pretty darn sharp. Anyway the subject is the point and shoot, I remember having one about 10 years ago, and taking pictures of a friend at the club we attended and being surprised just how much I could zoom in.I still love film, I think artistically it's a much better medium, there's an art and beauty in chaos, and the chaotic nature of grain is interesting, digital pixels are in lines. I've always said if they could make a sensor where the pixel pattern was random, they could really get a more pleasing look out of them. Thanks for sharing part of your personal life, it's nice and fun, and watch out when mom has a stick!
