very nicely composed and executed. the natural framing of the foliage and the path leading to the subject all work well together. I might crop off the top of the picture, the light area in the upper right fights for attention with the subject. also a slight burn of the water to the violin's right. should make a great full frame 8x10.
Thanks for your constructive criticism Tom. On the print there is good seperation, tone and detail between the violin and water, not a great scan.
I take your point with the sky area being too bright. I've always printed it this way because of wanting the tree in the background. Reading your comments I can see now that a tighter crop will still give natural framing with the sharpish greenery (black and whitery?!) on the left and the bush on the right and focus more on Miyuki. I look forward to revisiting this neg will a different viewpoint soon.
