It's not often you see a man-made element (road) play such an important part in a SW landscape -- very nice. Did you use local bleaching of the road in the print to make it pop out like that?
Robert, very nice..some may tire of work from this area, but I never do. This one has such a special look to it..both of the above post have ?, that I do how did you arrive at exposure time - metered? and the road glows..also, what developer for the MGWT?
Thanks all. This was done with my fuji s2 of a 20x24 I did some time ago. I used selenium and gold on it to get the redish brown color.
While some may worry about the edge of the next butte, I never did. I was ok with it in order to position the mittnes where I wanted them.
Indeed, there have been occasions where I have printed this in enlargment without the far right butte. I kind of feel something is missing when I do. hmm.
The exposure was 7 minutes due to the light fading. I started with f64 and calculated (guestimated) the falling light (I kept taking readings as the light went down) and added reciprocity to the image as time went on. It was a little nerve racking. I always worry more about under exposure than over.
So the result is just a lovely shot. No bleaching, but I have to admit, I love my enlarger, it is a zone VI (dual tube) and just does a stellar job of contrast adjustment.
And since I posted this at like 1am I just realized, it was Bergger warm tone. My appologies.
Very nice once again Robert! My eye tries to ponder too much on what's that in the background or else I'd love to see more of the meandering river - but that's just my own thoughts and are of no relevance to what you see at the time and how you choose to present the image. I'm sure it's a spectacular print!
