Hey this is not too far away from me (San Luis Obispo) and I've been contemplating doing a Mission series. Nice shot! What was the film used? Can I guess? Okay.. I am going to guess Ilford FP4. Don't ask me why hehe.

Ya know, I've never used FP4. Don't know why, either.

This was shot on HP5+, rated at 320 and souped in D76 1:1.

Wow, if this creamy (yet slightly ever so slightly grainy) texture is HP5+ I may have to include that in my repertoire! In the last year I've only been using PanF, FP4+, Bergger, and Adox 25, 50 and 100.

By the way are you doing any of the other missions? My reason for asking is maybe you might know when the best times are to show up to exclude the greatest number of visitors. Already I am wondering if San Luis Obispo will only be able to be shot at midnight! :D

Honestly, I couldn't tell you. Each mission is slightly different. I took these during a special workshop this past April that allowed us unfettered (mostly) access to the place. The only places off limits were monk's living quarters and the big chapel (due to massive reconstruction necessitated by a massive earthquake). Not all of the missions are run by the friars, but I think you'll find that those that are might welcome a photographer or two if you ask ahead.
