Minnewaska Ice

An excursion to the our gallery in Montgomery, and then on to the Gunks beyond New Palz (after a reallyreallygood lunch at the Gilded Otter) brought us to the most astonishing and gorgeous ice forms on every branch, twig, and rock in the mountains called the "Gunks" which is a local contraction of "Shawangunk". Despite the incredible ice show we get on the trees behind our house several times each winter, the dazzling show we experienced today in the mountains was beyond unique.

Interesting study - we know it is ice on a tree, but the abstact lets the mind wonder. Very nice, and Thanks for sharing.

Cool.

such a beautiful entanglement .... interesting effects also noted with the almost image inversion and sense of emitting light from the ice coated branches ... really special image ...

btw: i saw frost on my lawn today but it only lasted 30 minutes after the sun came up

I thought John was talking about visiting with you Eddie. The New Paltz area is quite beautiful in the winter.
