My Town Brentwood had a lot of MIST so as a 'Keen Snapper' I rushed out -- this time I chose my lovely 'Gift' ASAHI PENTAX Spotmatic F as I had not used it for a while -- I got HUGE GRAIN but I think it is 'Artistic' !
The grain does not detract from the image quality, but you must have developed the negative for eons to get that much. (The age of the Tri-X does not, by itself, bring about more grain.) - David Lyga
I used the recommended time as on the Massive Dev Chart and it was also the same 13 mins on the side of the Promicrol plastic bottle so I think it was being so 'Old' and not stored correctly ( I was GIVEN the film) the 'Fog Level' has risen and Promicrol has 'Forced' the grain -- on the second half of the film ( I CUT it ) I will try my 'Home-Made Microphen Formula as I saw it gave less Fog Level on some old Kodak P3200 film compared with Promicrol liquid.
