Very nice. I had a friend who was a real history buff on the early forest industry of Upper Canada, and he would have loved this photo. Unfortunately he died a few years ago. Thanks for bringing back some good memories. Any idea who built the mill?
 
This mill, and most of Crooks' Hollow, was built by the entrepreneur James Crooks just before the outbreak of the war of 1812, and produced flour and grain to supply his industrial concerns, including a sawmill downstream. The mill was converted to a paper mill in 1826, the first here. I believe it functioned as a paper mill until the 1930's. Thanks, JW!
