Microscopic Study l

My dad passed away last year and left me 2 microscopes to play with. His work was all scientific and done on color slides. I usually shoot with natural light so lighting the subject presented new challenges for me.

There is only a shallow DOF -

It really was fun playing with the scope just to see what I would get scooping up a dish of backyard dirt. What surprises were lurking in that dish.

It's nice to see some of your work posted. I like the out of focus stuff here, like looking at photographs of constellations. Before I got into photography I spent a lot of time on NASA's web site, exploring their space photographs. With a dial-up connection it was a somewhat painful experience, but mesmerizing.
This has a similar quality. I like it.

Thank you for the kind words, Thomas. I can relate to looking at pics of the cosmos as well, really cool stuff out there, indeed. This stuff is a bit off the track for me but I really enjoyed playing with the equipment, can't wait to do more with it....... will probably use D3200 as my range was rather limited with HP5+, had a hard time getting enough light up the tube.
