Very nice. My company did a project designing the the truck to train transfer yards in serveral cities for an intermodal transport service between Detriot and Montreal that is called 'iron highway' by our client. In these yards train flat cars would be loaded with truck traillers for inter city movements, with the trains moving as a scheduled service.

Sometimes this scheduled train service would see the enginers need to take an overnight rest at the end of a run in Detroit. When it ended in this staion's yard in the middle of the night, the crew would call for a taxi, and then the local cops to do a paid duty escort for the taxi. Otherwise the taxi would not pick them up in the yard. The building as I have had it described to me is an 18 storey beauty, but with every window in it broken.

Beautiful print, Dan! Great subject matter for the color.

thanks, everyone.
Mike: the description you have heard is right on. 18 once-splendid stories (I know, we climbed to the roof carrying our gear). Not only is every window broken, everything of value has been taken by scrappers, including the stair railings, right down to the elevator call buttons.

We ran into no trouble in this building, but I would not want to be there at night.

Interestingly enough, the man who owns this building also owns the Ambassador Bridge.
