Merced Reflections, Yosemite

This was the first shot I took in Yosemite last month. There are so many great reflections along the river. Had a little problem with the bottom of the image I think do to processing. Let me know what you think.

Pity about the processing Jim but I don't think it will hurt to crop it out (do you do this with contact prints?).

The depth in the top half of the picture is amazing and having that rockface at the back of it suggests a huge movie set or diorama. You've got some lovely layers going too with the darker trees in front of the lighter ones.

What time of day was it? It looks very clear.

Matt, I agree that it will not hurt to crop a little. I'm not against it if it will make the image stronger. This is a contact print and you just adjust the mat size to fit the print. The tones and reflections are what drew me to this spot. It was about 8:30 AM. The sun was just lighting El Capitan in the background and I like what it did to contribute to the rest of the image.

What is wrong with the bottom.

Very calm.

Mark, there is a little defect on the neg that may have been in the developing process. There is a slight line across the bottom. I may be able to burn it down and not have to crop it out. Just a personal thing. I'm glad you like it the way it is, Thanks.
