Wow... looks like a Terry Donovan fashion photo for Town Magazine.!
What is the story behind this.?

Not really much of a story. I was walking up the Mound in Edinburgh when I saw this group of performers dangling from a giant crane. Fortunately I had a 300mm lens in my bag and took this shot. I never use long lenses so don't know why I shoved that lens in my bag that morning. I only took the one image. I didn't really expect too much so I was pleasantly surprised the way it turned out. I was looking for a silhouette. They were a long way off the ground. It wouldn't have been me that's for sure.

OK..... i see.
Skill, Chance, Preparedness, Curiosity..... a "good picture" can happen for a lot of reasons.

It certainly is unique.
Well Done :cool::smile:

.......I am just another, hack, Street Photographer.
99% of my photos are probably not very unique.

But this is not my photo, so i think i can be subjective,

Anyway..... when was the last time a member of APUG posted a shot like this.?
Ever.....never.?
I cannot help but feel that, somewhere, there is some kind of award or "Fame" that is waiting for this picture.
I have never entered a "photo contest" and do not know if they are even relevant anymore.
But like i say, i can easily see this hanging in a gallery, winning a contest, or even being pushed around for some type of Stock, Fashion, Commercial use.
I guess it really struck me, so i cannot help but think it deserves a longer life than just here on this Forum.

Sorry to build giant debate about this.
I guess i like your frame.

Thanks for your subjective comments on my photograph. I have entered a couple of film competitions in recent years, not with this photograph however. Increasingly I see competitions as pointless. How can a judge compare this print for example with a bowl of fruit or a bird? I don't think competitions are relevant at all. I am a member of my local photography club and they have monthly competitions. I'm the only film photographer in the group of around 50 photographers. Judges assume all prints are digital. Some of the advice I received was laughable. I will say I haven't seen anything similar to this image and I've been a photographer for many years. There is a film competition coming up in the UK hopefully when the pandemic has eased. I'll enter this photograph.......if I can produce a print I'm happy with in my darkroom. Thanks for your subjective comments. They are appreciated.

Very interesting, good catch. Could this be "performance art"?

Fabulous shot. Like CMoore said, nothing like this has ever been posted here. And that is saying a LOT.
