While the photograph has great merit on it's on, if you have no already decided on using this as a piece of 3-D artwork I want to suggest that you do so, and look for an appropriate presentation support, a table, stand, box, suitcase, lunch pail, etc, etc, in which this can be permanently (but reversibly) mounted to, as is, perhaps as a wall piece.
Long ago, before kids, I did sculpture (MFA in Sculpture & taught it for a while) and what you suggested is basically what my sculptures were. But when children entered our lives, I was a Mr Mom for 10years and also worked a couple of part-time jobs. Photography became my artistic poison. These still life set-ups are the kissing cousins to my sculptures. I just barely have space to store my photos, never mind 3-D artwork.
I too am an artist doing easel painting, sculpture, woodcut printmaking, etc, and my back-ground was Photography, which I am now, once again, primarily focused on,.
Like you, I was the Stay at Home Dad and it was my kids that motivated me into fine arts as I sought to make their lives a little more broad.
I like your print very much, What do you want for a print for my wall?
