Mars Lander

Took this timed exposure last January at Ocotillo Wells trying to capture the surrounding hills by moonlight. I thought I was well far enough away from the campfire to avoid the light spillover, but I guess I was wrong. The result was not what I was after, but then not so unpleasant afterall.

I like this, the colors and especially the clouds definitely give it the look of an alien landscape. Even though this may not be what you planned, it worked out very well!

Very interesting scene; the feeling of motion is subtle and intriguing. A successful experiment! With the tripod in there. reminding you quite directly where you were in the scene, my guess is that this kind of photograph may become more meaningful over time.
