Market Day in Richmond

First time in the darkroom for a couple of months developing some films taken with my Xpan and a hired 30mm lens.

This shows Richmond Market Place from the Norman Castle. Its cropped to exclude some distractions in the foreground but still maintain the long curve of the buildings on the west side of the square - hence the rather exaggerated letter box format.

Comments and suggestions greatfully received, especially on the decision to burn in the upper edge and corners to focus in more on the Market Place, and a perhaps failure not to burn further the white foreground buildings?

Love it! I have a number of these type shots of Brugge and just love 'em. Just a thought...it looks just a bit off, maybe rotate it a hair in the clockwise direction.

Looks just right burn-wise. It focuses attention on centre of town without the viewer( or me at least) being aware of a burn.

Difficult to judge from a scan but the white foreground building look OK. At this scale, I wouldn't have expected to see much detail in the highlight anyway. On a big print it might be different but anyone seeing this as a major issue would be being a little "picky", I feel.

I agree with Drew on the rotation but again it's not a problem of the "Oh dear,if only" magnitude.
