Mardi Gras

This photograph is the first scene i shot at my first mardi gras when i was 14. I went in with another guy from school who was also gay and we were very lucky to have had a group of late 20-early 30yr olds take care of us. they must have thought we were too young to be by ourselves so they watched out for us and gave us fence side view of the parade.

This first frame also became my first ever ilfochrome print. I took the film to a place called colour control center in sydney and they were the ones who printed it. it wasn't until 3 years later I learned the fundamentals of printing ilfochrome myself.
