Good composition.

Yes, the outstretched monkey arm carries the line of the shoulder across the frame, to build a "+" cross with the line of the arm (and to give the eye eventual exit from the triangle created by the left arm and face). It's also his desktop pattern, he wanted it in the shot. The 1-sec exposures ticked him off though.
