I am not only an atheist, but an anti-religionist! Still, I love the sense of comfort that belief can bring when needed. I wish I could tap that for myself, but it will never happen. Love what this photograph represents.
 
I enjoy photographing churches for many reasons: for what they represent is one of them. Colonial churches in Latin America are increibly rich in carvings, gold leaf and paintings. If you add an unusual mix of traditions to this canvas, plus very challenging light conditions, you have a fascinating subject matter to work with.

You are welcome! Like John, I am pretty much "post religious" but I am forever amazed at the amount of detail and ornamentation that has gone into the houses of worship in past centuries. Your photograph renders some of the mystery and awe of these spaces quite well.
