Low Tide

It was the hottest day of the year, in fact any year here in Scotland, in July 2022.

  1. Yes
Nice use of the 6x7 format.
I just got an other older 6x7 folder in need of care and mending!

Out of curiosity how much is the tide amplitude at or near this location?
I am asking as it is quite variable depending on region. As an example, the Canadian Maritimes have huge tide amplitude, while a little farther to the south, say, Massachusetts Bay , it is much, much smaller. I understand Scandinavia has low values as well.

Nice use of your widescreen aspect ratio; that and the tonality (and the b&w) puts me in mind of a French or Italian film from the 1950s. Maybe early Truffaut?

The Spring Tide in Burntisland on Monday has a high tide of 5.41 metres and a low of 0.31 meters. I'm no expert but the low tide along the coast here allows people to wander far out from the coast. I really like 6x7.

Yep, Fellini, 8 1/2?
Fellini it is then! 8 1/2 is a wonderful film. I must have seen it a dozen times. Whenever I think of Truffaut I think Jules Et Jim. A new restoration appeared in Edinburgh in February I think?

I'm thinking of the seaside scene from The 400 Blows. Similar light.
